Shaquille O’Neal as DJ Diesel bringing a spectacle to the island of Krk
O’Neill will perform in the new Diamond Nightclub on July 14 • After a successful sports career, Shaq is doing just as great as an Electronic Music DJ.
The biggest DJ in the world or more precisely, the tallest, with his height being 7’11’’, is coming to Krk. DJ Diesel will be performing in the new Diamond Club near Malinska on July 14th, and the man represented by that name is the one and only Shaquille O’Neal, once a famous basketball player, and today one of the greatest entertainers in the world.
He had a passion for music from an early age, especially after seeing the band Public Enemy performing live for the first time as a 14-year-old. From then on, he dedicated himself to his mission of becoming a DJ – he was mowing the neighbors’ lawns, walking dogs and collecting everything he could get his hands on until he saved up $200 that he spent to buy his first record player in a pawnshop.
Many are unaware of the fact that Shaq has released several rap albums while at the same time developing his sports career, and the first album, ‘Shaq Diesel’, released in 2003, was sold in over a million copies and it reached number 25 on the Billboard chart. He became the first athlete with a platinum album at that time, but the turning point that changed his life happened in 2014 when he visited the Tomorrowland festival and discovered electronic dance music. Already the following year, he performed at the very same festival as DJ Diesel.
Since then, he has performed under this name at countless parties and festivals, as well as at Shaq’s Fun House, his own music festival. His combination of trap, EDM and hip-hop drives fans around the world crazy, and now he is coming to Krk, the new party destination of the northern Adriatic. The glorious ambience of the Diamond Nightclub in a natural setting with a magnificent view of the Kvarner Bay will make the perfect stage for the spectacle of this famous guest.
This performance is only one of many attractive events in the Diamond Club throughout the summer. Already in the opening week, starting from June 20th, the Diamond Club is featuring a number of regional and foreign performers, including a special treat on the weekend of July 1st and 2nd, when DJ stars Roger Sanchez and Magdalena arrive.
